BIO:  Sparkling and eclectic, a trip to M A H R I is energizing. Phenomenal jewelry designs by award-winning artist Marianthe “Mahri” Anagnostis Bode, with new pieces arriving almost daily, are combined with gorgeous, classic-with-a- twist clothing. A variety of gifts from fun to fabulous also grace our shelves. All of our jewelry is hand made by Mahri, who is a Master Goldsmith so we are able to customize any piece, as well as re-invent your personal jewelry! Repair services are also provided. She has an extensive education in fine arts and studied jewelry design at Syracuse University, Skidmore College, and Indiana University. Now with more than 40 years of creating limited edition pieces. Mahri is also one of the founders of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.. Just as a painter uses color to create a beautiful image on canvas, Mahri uses colored stones and precious metal to design her wearable works of art. While Mahri’s art is sophisticated and the clothing and gifts are of the highest quality, the store itself is the antithesis of a high-brow atmosphere. Instead, the environment is warm and welcoming, accessible to everyone with every price point covered. The design of the jewelry is just one part of the process. Mahri loves introducing a patron to the correct piece of jewelry, believing that each adornment must work with the body in both comfort and design. If a bracelet, necklace, or ring is the correct color, form, and proportion for the wearer, it will positively transform the person’s overall image. With experience at the renowned Bergdorf Goodman in New York City, Mahri’s daughter, Aimee Bode Konevich, has become an integral part of the shop as partner and, most recently, the apparel buyer.
