BIO: There will be a variety of mediums at the Erkkila table. Gloucester native Kathy Erkkila has been gleaning the Cape Ann shores for her sea glass treasures of for over 40 years. The goal has been to make things other than just jewelry. You will find functional items like business card holders, candle holders, sculptures/paperweights, and ornaments. Also on display will be barrettes, pins, pendants, and earrings. She hopes you will come to see the gorgeous colors.

The late Barbara Erkkila, historian and author of Hammers on Stone and Village at Lanes Cove was Kathy’s mother. Barbara’s unique idea was to use polished local granite to make pendants, earrings, pins, bracelets and more. We still have some actually made by Barbara, and some that were in her personal collection that she wore. Kathy has added some new styles of earrings and bracelets. (No, it is not heavy-come and see.) You will also find the granite jewelry year-round at the Cape Ann Museum in Gloucester.
