BIO: “I have dabbled in many mediums of art but once I worked with silver, I knew it was for me. Transforming a piece of metal sheet or wire into something beautiful, fun and organic is an amazing process. I am thrilled when a piece of metal turns into something that I saw in my imagination; or better yet just evolves on its own as I go. I love being surprised by the work.”
Katherine Bagley is a jeweler who grew up north of Boston and now lives in Gloucester, MA.  Her journey started as an apprentice with a silversmith in Boston over 40 years ago and has taken her along many years of self-teaching, workshops and classes. Now she works out of her home, creating unique pieces of wearable art in the form of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pins and rings.
Katherine’s favorite medium is silver but she also enjoys the effects of combining other metals such as copper, brass and gold filled. She will also add a splash of color to many of her pieces using sea glass, beads or stone and likes to keep an organic flavor to her work.
Her jewelry has been juried into numerous galleries, shows and craft leagues. Locally her work is currently shown at Gallery 53 in Rocky Neck, in Gloucester, MA and at several craft fairs throughout the year.
