BIO: I have my studio at my home in Annisquam and have participated in the Arts and Crafts Show for many years. I studied ceramics at Harvard Ceramics and was a member of the staff for several years. I have found a way of combining the practical side of my nature by making largely functional pieces with my pleasure in painting using the forms as canvases. I’ve always liked animals and the natural world, so these are often my subject matter. Some of my pieces have a story content. at least to me.
I find working in clay challenging, unlimited, and even a perfect metaphor for living as there are so many stages that a piece must go through from start to finish, each one subject to its own risks. There are happy and unhappy accidents. The process is really more interesting to me than the finished piece.
