Judith P. Norton

BIO:  Judy Pelikan lives on Cape Ann north of Boston where she enjoys walking on the shore, in fields and the woodlands natural to the area. As a result the natural world has become her inspiration. This includes the animals she sees, photographs herself and/or discovers through research. She has spent her career as a free lance illustrator and graphic designer. Having started out in advertising, she became interested in publishing and began illustrating books. She has published thirty titles. Her first, ‘Grandmother Remembers’ was a New York Times best seller. It has sold to date over two million copies. She was twice an award winner for the Society of Illustrators, New York. Her work has been shown in several galleries in the Boston area, most recently the Audobon Gallery Joppa Flats in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Currently she is creating limited edition art books. These include miniature books, with a series of ‘matchbooks’ for children focusing on the alphabet and numbers. She is also doing a series of miniature books which are metaphors and stories told through illustration. These books have been featured in shows in New England and the West Coast.
